Introduction to Treatment Applications

Completion of the online Initial Application Form is the first step in establishing if Hope therapy is an option for you.

There is no fee for the Initial Application Form assessment, and there is no obligation to undertake treatment, after submitting an initial application.

It should be noted that there are preclusions to treatment that only Operation Hope staff experienced with Operation Hope therapies can assess.

If you have an enquiry of a general nature, the Initial Application Form also has a section to submit just for this purpose.

It is recommended that you familiarise yourself with all the Hope therapy information on this website.

Treatment Applications

  • The first step is to submit the Initial Application Form.
  • If the enquiry is of a general nature, the Clinic Patient Liaison staff will make contact via email or phone to assist as necessary.
  • Some patient conditions preclude treatment. In this instance the Clinic practitioners make this assessment and communicate with the prospective patient as necessary (it could be a matter in relation to the state of health of the patient at the time of application or one of a number of more definite contraindications to treatment).
  • If the Initial Application shows that treatment may be an option, a Patient Information Pack, which includes a more detailed Patient Assessment Questionnaire, is emailed or posted.
  • Once a Patient Information Pack is sent, a follow up phone call is made to the applicant within 4 days to confirm it has been received and to answer any questions.
  • If the applicant wishes to submit the Patient Assessment Questionnaire (PAQ) the Clinic staff are on hand to assist with completing the form.
  • Once the PAQ is received by the Clinic, the Clinic doctor(s) will respond as quickly as possible. Often patients need to attach copies of recent blood tests, x-rays and other assessments. It can take a few days for Hope Australia to assess and correspond with patients – especially if clarification on some detail is required.
  • If it is determined from the doctor's assessment of the PAQ that Hope therapy is an option, the patient is then notified and provided with details of the treatment process. There is no obligation for treatment but it can usually progress within two weeks from this time. (Refer section Fees and Payments).
